The East London duo of vocalist/songwriter Kemi and Producer/Beat maker Bare Beats magnificently blend two disparate pools of musical influences and differences to create a new sounds that defies simple categorisation.

As journalists have attempted to slap ‘trip-hop’, ‘down tempo dub’, ‘dub’ and many more, the truth is the only way to describe The Kemistry sound is to call it...The Kemistry sound.

Rocking shows with a live backing band and frequently collaboration with MCs, The Kemistry have created and intense buzz in the UK underground music scene, solidified with the release of their 2009 EP 'The Tour', and their follow up single 'The Core'

The Kemistry - The Tour EP

The Kemistry have been together for just over a year and after the departure of the groups MC ‘Smokey’, the remaining duo (Kemi & Bare Beats) have knuckled down to embellish on their sound putting together the perfect avant-garde, multi-genre EP.

This EP, 'The Tour EP' is an accomplished combination of intelligent, honest lyrics, written and sung by Kemi, concocted with haunting bass and undertones, provided by abstruse beat maker; Bare Beats.

One path, different streets: this summarizes the new collaborative project between Modulok, the Toronto-based emcee most notorious for his work as one half of Red Ants, and Bare Beats, the London-based beatsmith and respected veteran of the British hip-hop scene whose trademark sound has become synonymous with the record label he fronts, Bare Records. Modulok's grime poet lyricism and brass knuckle flows have found a perfect home with Bare Beat's smoked out, jazz-tinged, head-snapping tracks, creating a sound that is dark, abrasive, and reminiscent of the classic east coast hip-hop of the early-mid 90s. Two Cities is tough, raw and unrefined - yet behind the murky atmosphere of broken glass and microphone battling is a thought-provoking exegesis on the plight of the individual trapped in the modern day city.
